Day 1 (Sunday)

Arrival at the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana and meet your guide who will be waiting for you upon exiting the customs area.

Board air-conditioned coach and proceed to start your experience in Havana with a brief orientation while on the way to our first destination.

Continue to your accommodation, Chateau Blanc, for check-in and welcomes mojito. Take some time to settle in and freshen up.

Before your “Welcome to Cuba” dinner at POSH, the restaurant in Chateau Blanc on the 4th floor, there will be time for Micha / Maariv services.

Afterward, return to Chateau Blanc, short briefing for next day activities at POSH.

Day 2 (Monday)

Before breakfast at POSH, there will be morning Minyan.

After breakfast, departure for a tour of Havana Vieja and a visit to the Museo de la Revolucion, where you can see the history of world events from the Cuban point of view.

When we are ready in the Museo de la Revolucion, we will continue and walk through the 4 main squares in Havana, Plaza Vieja, Plaza de San Francisco de Asis, Plaza de la Catedral y Plaza de Armas. While walking we will visit the hotel Raquel and the Orthodox Synagogue – Adath Israel, and have box lunch, prepared at POSH. After lunch, we will continue walking and visit the legendary Hemingway hangouts and relax with a drink.

Visit Plaza de la Revolucion (The Revolution Square), the site of political rallies and famous speeches. Visit the monument of Jose Marti, the father of the country.

In the afternoon we will head back to Chateau Blanc to welcome a speaker on the History of Jews in Cuba at POSH.
Followed by this, there will be Mincha / Maariv services and dinner at POSH.

After dinner, we will visit the iconic Hotel Nacional, a seaside hotel frequented by the rich and famous and the best place to enjoy a cigar by the water, with views over the Malecon.

Day 3 (Tuesday)

Before breakfast at POSH, there will be morning Minyan.

After breakfast, we will depart to visit the Jewish Cemetery in Havana, after this impressive visit, we will continue to the Finca Vigia, which is the historical home of Ernest Hemingway. At the Finca Vigia, we will have a box lunch.

After lunch, we will continue on our bus, and have a trip over the famous Malecon and the neighborhoods Vedado and Miramar. We will have a chance to see the Miramar / Quinta Avenida (Embassy neighborhood), the United Stared Embassy, The ‘mafia’ hotel (Hilton, Capri & Riviera) which were the local haunts of famous gangsters such as Al Capone.  We’ll also see the beautiful University of Havana and finally have a drive-through ‘El Bosque de la Habana’ a national park in Nuevo Vedado.

After the tour, we will go back to Chateau Blanc to freshen up and have time for Micha / Maariv services. Following this, we will have a lovely Israeli dinner at POSH.

After dinner, free time, and a short briefing for the next day activities at POSH.

Day 4 (Wednesday)

Before breakfast at POSH, there will be morning Minyan.

After breakfast we will be visited by a true “Jewban”, an individual who has a parent of Cuban heritage and another parent of Jewish descent, to learn more about the Jewish Cubans.

After the meet-up with the “Jewban”, we will depart to visit the Sephardic Synagogue. Over there we will have a lunch with the local members of the synagogue.

After the lunch, we will visit the Club Rum museum to learn the history of rum in Cuba, this includes tasting and there is a store where you can purchase high-quality Cuban rums to bring back home.

After finishing the visit to the museum we will visit the Almacenes de San Jose, the local crafts market where you will be able to buy local crafts, artwork, and souvenirs.

To conclude this day we will ride back to Chateau Blanc in style, in American vintage convertibles. In Chateau Blanc we will have time to freshen up and have time for Micha / Maariv services. Following this, we will have a delicious Italian dinner at POSH.

After dinner, we will visit the F.A.C. (Fabrica de Arte) a popular night spot for drinking, live music, dance, art & film.

Day 5 (Thursday)

Before breakfast at POSH, there will be morning Minyan.

On this last full day, we will start with visiting Fusterlandia, also known as the Cuban Gaudi, a unique art neighborhood, covered in mosaic tiles.

After this visit, we will return to Chateau Blanc for a lunch. Following the lunch, we will learn about the history of tobacco in Cuba and will have a cigar rolling demonstration. Feel free to try it for yourself as well!

After the tobacco demonstration, we will visit the studio of the Cuban artist who created the world-famous Che Guevara sculpture.

Following this visit, we will visit El Patronato (Beth Shalom) Conservative Synagogue followed by Minch / Maariv services at the shul and youth dancing.

After the services, we will return back to Chateau Blanc for a farewell Cuban dinner at POSH.

After dinner, we will attend the change of the guard ceremony, Coñonazo de las Nueve, that officially closes the city gates ad 21:00 sharp.

Day 6 (Friday)

Before breakfast at POSH, there will be morning Minyan.

After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye and head back to the airport for the flight back home.

Extra information

This tour can be extended to your wishes, visits to for example Las Terrazas, Vinales or Trinidad.
Extention also possible over Shabbat.
During all visits, a kosher lunch box will be provided.
